May Mwaka joined the Independent Development Evaluation at the African Development Bank as a Principal Evaluation Officer in January 2021.
May joined the Bank with over 18 years of experience in the field of monitoring and evaluation working across Uganda, Rwanda, Guinea, Sierra Leone and the Fiji Islands. May has worked with national governments, non-governmental organizations and bilateral agencies like the USAID as well as on projects funded by the European Union and Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. During this time, May has been involved in country and program level evaluations across the health, education, governance, conflict and natural resource management sectors. May has also led various efforts in integrating learning and adaptive management practices at different levels.
May holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of Makerere (Uganda) and a Master’s in Development Evaluation and Management from the University of Antwerp (Belgium).
