Elena Touriño Lorenzo is an experienced communications professional who has worked for multilateral organisations, civil society and news channels. She joined the African Development Bank as a communications consultant in October 2023, following her time at the United Nations Development Programme and the European Union.
Her experience covers different areas of communication: from the design and implementation of strategies to the creation of audiovisual materials, the production of targeted content for traditional and digital media to broadcasting, high-level event management, public diplomacy activities and social media campaign management. She has also worked as technical expert and project manager for international development co-operation projects in sub-Saharan Africa, from work stations in Senegal, Guinea-Bissau and Niger. Throughout her career, she has worked with various stakeholders such as the private sector, civil society, senior officials and ministers and the international donor community.
Elena holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Santiago de Compostela and a Master's degree in Public Relations and Communication Agency Management from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She speaks six languages.
