Yaya Koloma is an Economist, with over 13 years’ professional experience. He joined IDEV as an Evaluation Analyst Consultant in January 2022. He previously worked as an Administrator of the African Development Review (ADRev) in the Macroeconomic Policy, Forecasting and Research Department (ECMR) of the African Development Bank. In this role, Yaya managed and oversaw the Bank’s professional journal with the aim of improving its visibility within the international development community and its ranking and impact factor (performance indicator) among competing international journals in the field of development studies. 

Prior to joining the Bank, Yaya was successively an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Bordeaux in France (2008-2010), a Program Assistant intern at Trickle Up in New York (2010) in the Monitoring and Evaluation Division, and an Associate Professor in Development Economics at ISTOM (Higher School of Agriculture and International Development) in France (2011-2018). Following this assignment, Yaya worked as an independent Consultant for the French Development Agency, IPC Gmbh (German consulting firm) and KfW. In this capacity, he carried out consulting studies from an evaluative perspective on topics related to agricultural policies and financing, and the private sector-SMEs, in selected African countries.

Yaya holds a PhD in Economics (2009) and an M.Sc. in Development Economics (2005) from the University of Bordeaux; and a Bachelor’s in Policy and Economic Analysis (2004) from the University of Grenoble in France.
