Research Assistant

Roland Akabzaa joined the Independent Development Evaluation Department (IDEV) of AfDB in February 2020 as a Research Assistant. Roland’s work experience is in the areas of project monitoring and evaluation, research, project management, institutional assessment, good governance and policy advocacy.

Before joining IDEV, Roland worked with Associates for Change (AFC) as a Research Manager, the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC) as a Research Officer, the Agriculture Development and Value Chain Enhancement (ADVANCE) project (one of the USAID Feed the Future’s projects), as the Policy and Advocacy Specialist and NIRAS International Consulting as the M&E Specialist for the Ghana Skills Development Fund (SDFII).

He has contributed to a book published by Routledge UK entitled Education Outcomes and Poverty in the South: A Reassessment. He also authored and co-authored several evaluation and research reports mainly in Ghana. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Social Policy studies from the University of Ghana. He is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
