Tuesday 04 July 2023

On 4 July 2023, the Forum International Francophone de l'Evaluation (FIFE 2023) was officially launched in Luxembourg. With the theme "Evaluation and the Digital Revolution," discussions at FIFE 2023 aimed to identify how digitization contributes to the continuous improvement of evaluation systems and, consequently, to the relevant and credible reinforcement of sustainability and public governance through three major forums: (1) Digital technology at the service of evaluation governance, (2) The evaluation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the face of digital technologies, and (3) Digital technologies and evaluation practices. The FIFE 2023 conference covered 15 poster sessions, 13 workshops, 15 panels, and 7 partner events, and attracted participants from 23 countries. The conference was co-organized by the Réseau Francophone de l'Évaluation (RFE) and the Société Luxembourgeoise d'Évaluation et de la Prospective (SOLEP). Committed to fostering the culture of evaluation in the African continent, IDEV supported the participation of two parliamentarians and four young emerging evaluators. They are Hon. Marie Antoinette Mékeu épse Ebene Ebene from the National Assembly of Cameroon, Hon.  Eléonore Johasy, from the National Assembly of Madagascar, Yakiéma Kouyaté from Côte d'Ivoire, Joseph Essomba Eyenga from Cameroon, Sephora Axelle Aguessy from Benin and Mahougnon Houangni from Senegal.  These participants contributed to FIFE through high-level panels, workshops, partner events, plenary sessions and poster presentations.  Through this support, IDEV is demonstrating its commitment to supporting the evaluation capacity development (ECD) in Africa.
